YOUTH BEGINNING 420

AGES: 12-18
SCHEDULE: Monday-Thursday 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
DURATION: Two weeks

PREREQUISITES: Able to swim and tread water in life jacket

This all-day class is designed for new sailors or past Opti sailors who are ready to try a larger boat.

Classes include brief lessons and demonstrations covering the followed by on the water practice and games. Coaches follow their classes in safety boats, offering suggestions to help sailors improve their boat handling skills.

Students learn how to rig the boat, land at a dock or buoy, tacking and gybing, sailing upwind and downwind in a variety of wind conditions, and knots. This has been a very popular course for teens and their friends.
